Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women was founded by Bhaktavatsalam Memorial Trust in memory of one the greatest sons of Bharat, Late Shri. M. Bhaktavatsalam, the former Chief Minister of Tamilnadu. It started functioning in the academic year 1993-1994. The college is situated in Periyar Nagar, Korattur, Chennai- 600 080.
Late Shri. M.Bhaktavatsalam, a great statesman, an erudite scholar, statesman, a legal luminary, a patriot was deeply devoted to the cause of women’s education.
With the sole aim of serving for the betterment of women through education, Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women imparts value-based education with the objective of moulding women into smart, educated persons capable of taking on global challenges to fulfill their aspirations.

Alumni Association of Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women was founded in the year 2011.

Our college is well-equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories that provide adequate hands-on training to the students in various disciplines of Computer Science, Electronics, Physics , Psychology , Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Language and Hotel & Catering Management.
The laboratories provide an ideal exposure for the students to develop their experimental skills.
The Central library of Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women was established in the year 1993. With the Management contribution and the special interest of our beloved Chairman, Vice-Chairman and respected Secretary,the collection of the library is being increased steadily.
The College counseling centre caters to the needs of students in the cognitive, behavioural and education wellbeing.
This involves providing students help in handling interpersonal conflicts, time management, individualized study plans aimed at promoting the holistic development of the student community.
The Health Care Centre offers free medical care to students and faculty for minor ailments and first aid in case of emergency. It is manned by a healthcare professional who manages the various aspects of the facility.
The college is equipped with a fully functional vegetarian canteen with a good seating capacity where a variety of tasty, hygienically prepared food is available at subsidized rates. The canteen has a big kitchen and kitchen staff takes extra care to provide nutritious food to staff and students.
Our college has state-of-the-art Auditorium with a good seating capacity of around 600. It is well-equipped with an Audio -Video facility to conduct seminars, International and National conferences and cultural activities.
