ABOUT THE COURSEThe Languages Department, which includes Tamil and Hindi, have been in existence since the inception of the college from the year 1993 - 1994 under the efficient and experienced faculty members. The development of students’ communication skills is given major importance while planning the curriculum. Literary works in these languages are given importance to give an overview into linguistic culture and heritage.
ELIGIBILITYStudents are expected to take the language they have studied in Std. X (C.B.S.E.) or Std. XII.
The Tamil Department of Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College offers comprehensive educational programmes giving students a true vision of life to help them to face the challenges in a positive and dynamic manner for the betterment of the society.

A Drama "Surya
Sooravali",compiled by
Mrs.T.Sivasundareswari,Head of Tamil
Department,was held in February 2011.The department
inaugurated a club called "Bharathi Muthamizh
Mandram" on 30.09.2011 by Dr.Mangaryarharasi,
Associate Professor, Queen Mary's college,
Chennai. Various competitions like Elocution
Competition, Poem Writing and Essay Writing
competition were organized.A Debate was
conducted on a topic "Samuga Valarchikku
Indriamaiyadhathu Ilaignargalin Vegamaa!
Mudhiyorgalin Vivegamaa!" which enlightened the

The Chief Guest Dr.A.Rajalakshmi, Assistant Professor, from Bharathidasan Arts and Science College, Puduchery had felicitated the function and delivered a speech. As a Motivation, She explained the procedure to write many short stories and Poetry to the students. The Students participated in the activities and exhibited their talents. The workshop ended with an active feedback session.
